BEYS Season Kick Off

2017 Spring Soccer Season

Spring Season Begins April 11

Hello BEYS Soccer Families!

First practice is Tuesday, April 11 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for U6 and 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. for U8-U12. We sometimes need to end practice early due to loss of daylight, please plan accordingly.

Please note the date change due to inadequate field conditions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Darren or Autumn Spotts.

Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Unionville Soccer Fields

URGENT! U8 Coaches Needed

We are in need of U8 coaches, or two assistant coaches who can work together to coach a team. Please contact BEYS president, Darren Spotts if you are able to serve in this role.

Team Selection

During the first night of practice, each age group will practice together. Upon arrival at practice, players can go directly to their designated fields, where coaches will be waiting to welcome them. Following practice, coaches will select their teams through a draft process. You will be notified by your child's coach of which team they are on.

Game Jerseys—Will be distributed during practice on April 13.

First Games and Game Schedules

U6—First Game will be held on Thursday, April 20

U8, U10, & U12—First Game will be held on Saturday, April 22

Game schedules will be distributed once team selections are complete. We will once again be playing Bellefonte teams, as well as our in-house teams. Directions to field locations can be found on our website

Parent Pledge

BEYS has always guarded the morale of its players, coaches and referees, both on and off the field. Through positive encouragement from coaches, fellow team members, and our referees we set the foundation for each of the children in the program to learn team building skills, to boost their self esteem, and to enjoy the game of soccer in a safe environment. To ensure that sportsmanlike conduct is always demonstrated to our young players, parents and guardians are required to read, initial and sign the BEYS parent pledge—attached. Please turn the form in to your child's coach or to me within the first two weeks of practice.

The parent pledge can also be viewed at our website.

Cleats, Shin Guards and Soccer Balls

All players are required to wear shin guards during play. We have a large number of "like new" donated cleats that will be available for our players. Before buying cleats, if you would like to wait until after the first practices to see what is available, please have your child wear sneakers to practice. If you have cleats you would like to donate to the program, we will also be accepting donations during this time. If your child has a soccer ball, they are encouraged to bring it to practice each night. If not, the league has balls for players to use.

Player Safety

PA West Soccer (our governing program) has mandated the stoppage of all "headers" during practices and games for U6, U8, & U10 level players. The safety of our players is of the utmost importance, therefore heading the ball will no longer be practiced or tolerated. During a game, should a player head the ball, the referee can award a free kick to the opposing team. Practice and Game Cancelations If BEYS feels that all practices or games need to be canceled due to inclement weather, a notice will be posted on our Facebook page and also be emailed to you at this address. Should an individual practice/game need to be canceled/rescheduled, coaches will contact the parent/guardian via email, phone or text. We provide each coach with a list of your contact information that was given during registration. If that is not the preferred method of contact, please let your child's coach know how to reach you. Thank you for your flexibility!
